AMD ha rilasciato una versione dei driver Catalyst 12.2 chiamata Pre-Certified, che precede i driver che saranno disponibili alla fine del mese di febbraio, i quali avranno la certificazione Microsoft WHQL.
La differenza tra questi driver e quelli certificati sta solo nella certificazione, infatti i Pre-Certified hanno tutte le novità ed i bug fix che ci saranno ella versione certificata.
Da segnalare in questi driver varie ottimizzazioni riguardanti la tecnologia Eyefinity 2.1 e la possibilità di gestire il super sampling anti-aliasing, sia con API DirectX 10 che DirectX 11, per le schede video della serie Radeon HD 7900 e HD 7700.

AMD Eyefinity 2.1 technology enhancements
Custom resolutions – users can now choose from a much larger set of display resolutions for their AMD Eyefinity configurations
Dynamic Configuration Changes: Switching between different display configurations (when physically plugging/un-plugging displays) will occur automatically by loading the appropriate profile
HydraVision enhancements: The Windows Task bar can now be moved and resized based on users preference
Profile Manager improvements: Users can now create multiple Display profiles, enabling users to seamlessly switch between various AMD Eyefinity and Display Configurations
